Reddit's downfall will not be a quick flash as Digg's was, but rather a long and slow destruction much like a fiery reentry from the upper atmosphere.

Moderators need to calm their tits and focus on nurturing and growing their communities.

I love this guy.

Voat also has automatic public moderation logs and everything you remove will still be visible in these modlogs and your actions may be questioned by the community, just like what happened yesterday.

This. Things like this right here give me so much hope for the longevity of this site. Thank you @Atko.

What the actual hell. I'm completely confounded by this. Despite how fantastic, perfect, and amazing Larry Page seems to think this all appears, I get the feeling that there is something more sinister afoot.

Voat, the student side-project is now Voat, Inc.! submitted by Atko to announcements

Why the U.S.? Switzerland seemed like a great option in the beginning, but when it comes to freedom of speech, the main idea behind Voat, U.S. law by far beats every other candidate country we've researched. The First Amendment is very clear about this:

@Atko, so is still going to abide by the earlier statement that anything can be posted which isn't illegal in Switzerland? Are the servers in fact going to remain in Switzerland?

For everyone else, I have an uneasy feeling in my gut about this to be completely honest. We'll have to wait and see what develops from here. Thoughts?
