I made a site like voat.co, it's not a side project submitted by chutter to technology

ill repaste this so you can see it ( in response to another similar question) :

Let me start by saying that it's still in its infancy and I'd really love to get some help on it, but:

  • scalable architecture, built with modern web technologies, hosted on powerful infrastructure (same as reddit). Load balancers, scaling groups, caching layers, queues have all been set up
  • here's an album going over some features: http://imgur.com/a/xeXUQImgur Album

  • anti brigading tools have been built, they aren't vaporware.

  • will not be taking outside financial backing from investors, will either rely on user support or shut down

  • a rule system built from the ground up so that you know why your content was removed, and what rule it broke.

  • communities belong to "networks". On reddit and voat, there is no distinction in between "fatpeoplehate", and "supercutecats", so unilateral content policy decisions will be made in an attempt to fix a certain subset of communities. By logically grouping communities into networks, they can each have their own content policy and co-exist. This is an area I would love to expand on, and I left it a little vague so that I could get your feedback. But full disclosure: I am an advocate of free speech, a lot of my motivation for building this was in response to reddit being a big huge pussy about fatpeoplehate.

its going to be optional, but it's still in it's infancy so i haven't had a chance to remove that form field yet.

fuck sjws, here are my favorite videos. I watch it every night:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOvSRB-V_8I&list=PLKEj7pq0pWGn2_rgX3SXD8c4eUXOXmb2O

that being said, they have every right to use the site as well. The goal is to co-exist and have meaningful discourse. Moderator tools will be in place to allow community moderators to come down like the hammer of thor on any vote brigading (like the shit /r/srs tries to pull).

The UFC is expected to smash all-time attendance records at UFC 193. And here is the reason why. submitted by chutter to videos

  • Some of the more popular sites used to link videos are Youtube, Vimeo, and Liveleak. Other sources are perfectly fine as well.

this is why i thought it was fine.

another "source" is usually a link that consists of a video (that is easily viewable), and maybe some comments. I thought the link i posted met all of the qualifications for this rule.

but it is spam.

So i can post a link to a youtube video's comment section. or some random news website with fly-by-night ads that spam you when you visit there, but linking to a video on chutter is not allowed. I'm sorry but that seems a little like selective/subjective rule enforcement to me. it's not like chutter is trying to damage voat or its users in anyway, i use this site frequently actually.

i honestly have no good reason. although its not really shilling if i tell you the reason for my post, and tell you i made the site.
