Are we there already? Damn ... I don't want to believe that. If there's any way to stop them without violence we must try that first.

They want you to hate members of other political parties.

The most prominent leaders of the Democrat party are openly and explicitly disavowing civility.

You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton said. “That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again.

-- Hilary Clinton

Hmm? Sounds like the Dems are demanding power be given to them. Well, let's see what she might mean by "civil".

1 Of, relating to, or befitting a citizen or citizens: civil duties.

So Dems are abandoning their duties as citizens?

2 Of or relating to citizens and their interrelations with one another or with the state: government agencies concerned with civil affairs.

So Dems are refusing to participate in government?

3 Of ordinary citizens or ordinary community life as distinguished from the military or the ecclesiastical: married in a civil ceremony at city hall.

So Dems are abandoning their communities?

4 Sufficiently observing or befitting accepted social usages; polite: a civil reply. See Synonyms at polite.

So Dems are abandoning politeness?

5 Being in accordance with or denoting legally recognized divisions of time: a civil year.

Seems not to apply here?

6 Law Relating to the rights of private individuals and legal proceedings concerning these rights as distinguished from criminal, military, or international regulations or proceedings.

So Dems are disregarding the rights of individuals?

I do believe that #4 and #6 are most applicable. So much for literal interpretation. Now for my opinion.

I think "civility" is our ability to resolve differences by peaceful means, usually through discussion and by rejecting violence. If Dems are abandoning civility, I believe they are ready to turn to violence. Is that too far a stretch?

  • The KKK has been described by historians as the "terrorist wing of the Democrat party".
  • Maxine Waters has openly called for Republicans to be confronted in public.
  • Those raging mobs banging on the doors in Washington at the confirmation.
  • The nationwide outbreak of vandalism, stalking, harassment, and slander/libel directed at Republicans.

Do I believe these are possible without the support of the Democrats and their mainstream media collaborators? No, I do not.
