I disagree on two counts. I don't think the Reddit community is angry enough to leave en masse, and I don't think this is irreversible for Reddit. It's easy to get stuck in a media bubble and chant "reddit sucks" until it seems like the whole world is with you but take a look at Reddit's traffic stats.
They won't lose more than ten percent of their users to this mess and -- here's the important part -- They're losing their least contented users. They're losing people who would complain and the mods who would black out their subs. Obviously they're hurting their culture. Obviously they've bought into SJW echo chamber culture. But that's a very slow process. For the moment there will be fewer complainers and almost as much content. (in terms of comments and links)
The sad fact is most Reddit users don't care enough about free speech to leave when fatpeoplehate is banned. And the majority probably even believe the media narrative surrounding the topic.
So no, this won't kill Reddit. Rather Reddit will slowly commit suicide.
