There is no real hazard. Genetic modification does exactly the same thing as selective breeding, but faster. It's actually safer for the environment, because with GMOs, we need fewer deadly pesticides.
There's no danger to us, either. We've seen the long-term effects of eating corn, and they're exactly the same as the long-term effects of eating genetically modified corn. It's not like GMOs are pumped full of radiation. They're more resistant to disease and pests, and grow more quickly and provide a more bountiful harvest. That's it.

I like just about everything about Voat. The small community, the UI, the users. I like that new users can't downvote immediately. What I like most about it is the emphasis on free discussion.
