I clicked the light bulb 11 months ago and have since forgotten that there was such a thing as "not night mode".

After trying repeatedly to contact EA customer support chat over a minor issue, they send me this mail. submitted by trialbyseven to gaming

Zenhael 0 points 36 points (+36|-0) ago

EA customer support is a fucking joke.

Somebody hijacked my account once and spent $65 of my money on games. Luckily, I recovered my account personally and had the charges overturned. Then, out of courtesy, I contacted them to let them know that they'd had a security breach, and to see if I could find out who tried to rip me off.

When I told them what happened, they locked my account and refused to unlock it, even after I carefully explained that everything was fine.

I tried to submit further support tickets and the motherfuckers ignored me. As far as I'm concerned, they can all suck their own dicks until they choke.

There is an upvote brigade/SRS group forming on Voat - Proof inside submitted by PM_ME_YOUR_ARCHES to whatever

Zenhael 2 points 33 points (+35|-2) ago

Holy shit.

Holy shit. This is upsetting.

Brigading is slippery fucking slope. How far of a leap is it from "protective upvoat brigading" to "proactive downvoat brigading"? I mean, if this group came into existence and had to run however many upvoat-brigades to counter some downvoat-brigades from (for example) ProtectVoat, then how long would it take for this new group to get fed up with the downvoat-brigades and then just run a massive downvoat-brigade, themselves? That way, they'd still be "serving their purpose" in terms of killing some "known brigaders".

Then, somewhere down the line, such a group becomes so massive that they can essentially out-brigade any other group on the site. And any time they get downvoated organically, they decide that it "had to be a brigade" and then they just destroy whosoever may disagree with their ideology.

At it's core essence, this "innocent idea" is just as volatile as SRS is/was, just as volatile as ProtectVoat allegedly is. This is a bad fucking idea, and should be completely shut out.

While it sounds romantic to "fight fire with fire", that isn't the greatest long-term solution. The principles upon which this new group would be founded upon are the same basic principles that any other brigading-oriented group are founded upon. And it is those groups that end up degrading sites like this.

Fuck. I just donated $125 to Voat a couple hours ago. I really don't want people like this to bring about the second apocalypse.

This article feels more than a little biased. Not surprising, considering its Wikipedia.

While I agree entirely with the sentiment, I'm about 95% certain that this quote has been debunked as false.
