If you check Voat's Twitter, it states the site has been under regular DDoS attacks.

What are the chances someone from reddit is doing that? Not officially, but a turn-your-head-and-look-the-other-way thing?

Is anyone else tired of seeing posts about being tired of seeing posts about being tired of seeing posts about reddit? submitted by MrPersonage to AskVoat

Yea I am, but here's my problem with VOAT:

-there's 4 subs I'm interested in modding and adding content to. All of the subs have mods that haven't been active in 6 months.

-I've been turned down because my account isn't 30 days old. Rather than turning a sub over to an ambitious new member, they'd rather keep the sub with a mod who hasn't been active since 2014.

How will your site grow if you don't let anyone build onto the site that came over during the reddit migration, and instead leave the subs in the hands of inactive mods?

Why Reddit Needs to Replace Ellen Pao as CEO submitted by xpdx to Reddit

This has been the best article I've read on what's happening at reddit's, because like the problem itself, it focuses on the community and not Pao.

Reddit, as a company, produces nothing. It's community builds the site by adding content. Without the community adding content to the site, the company is worthless. The community comes before the company, because without the content-drivers, I.e. The mods, there is no reddit.
