Would probably be more effective if written by a native English speaker.

Why does the author use the term "civilisation"?

The abstract from the relevant journal article uses the phrase "population" and one of the co-authors, an Aborigine, uses the term "race" in the linked article.

I'm not making any assumptions as to why the writer used the word she used, just pointing-out that it is the wrong terminology.

Recently, pundits started a campaign to downvote the new movie's trailer into oblivion.

I wasn't aware of any campaign and the article doesn't seem to provide any other details to backup this claim. Is/was there a campaign?

The American flag was flying high in the wind. This fact was confirmed by US Navy sailors who survived the attack.

Seems a lot of users of Voat (including me) like to make fun of Jewish eye-witness accounts of the holocaust, but when it comes to US eye-witness accounts about alleged US tragedies, take them as Gospel.

Sure. The servicemen don't have any reason to lie.
