Does voat "fix" the upvote/ downvote stats like reddit? submitted by Matterhorny to AskVoat

OJs_Lawyer 0 points 73 points (+73|-0) ago

Incredible. I remember getting having a comment on reddit with a ton of upvotes. Only ever saw about 4000 of those on my overview even though it was topping 10,000. Meanwhile my children are starving. Could barely get enough karma to get us through each cold night - the warmth of our last orange upvote arrows slowly dying out as the light faded. They stayed strong... so strong even though the desperation was clear on their tear streaked faces. I was so helpless.

Anyway, that's great to hear though.

What do you dislike most about Voat? submitted by Forbin to AskVoat

Ah, thank you. The biggest issue isn't a specific "radical" viewpoint in my opinion, but rather constantly establishing views relative to what we perceive to be extremism. I see so much "black & white" on here, but never an acknowledgement that these views exist on a grey gradient. It's always "the feminists" or "SJWs" that are causing the problems, apparently.

So, we flocked away to Voat. Can we stop talking about "you know what site" submitted by TobaccoBeard to AskVoat

I just think it's funny that people honestly believe that reddit is going down in flames because of this. A lot of people will leave. Many more will stay.

What's wrong with 'social justice'? submitted by dumblindeaf to AskVoat

OJs_Lawyer 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

Well that's incorrect, and you're allowing the "SJW"s to redefine a word - and an entire principle in that sense. The people you're referring to don't actually represent social justice - they just say they do. It doesn't make it correct.

What do you find offensive? submitted by EatenByAGrue to AskVoat

OJs_Lawyer 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

No, you just don't fundamentally understand what taking offense to something actually is - you're essentially saying you've never had a negative reaction to ANYTHING - in which case you're just fucked mentally, and I imagine people shit on you quite a lot. Words aren't the only thing you can take offense to, and I find it hilarious that you're intentionally disregarding offense that can be taken to actions. I'm assuming, however that you don't feel bad when someone comes up to you and kicks you in the face - because feeling anything other than contentment would make you a child unable to control your emotions. Right? No - in reality you're just talking out of your ass because you like to think you have a really thick skin, either because you've never actually had to confront something that would truly bring out an emotional response or you're in denial. I just think it's funny that you equate "controlling one's emotions" to "not having emotions to control".

Not only is he perfect - but also showing people their own flaws through a twisted account of his own experience! How are there not ballads written about you, friend?
