r/gundeals is back. Anyone going back? submitted by Moodog to Gundeals

More_Bort 0 points 33 points (+33|-0) ago

No. I’d already been growing dissatisfied with reddit admins overall. Gundeals was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

This reinstatement reeks of reddit realizing they had overplayed their hand and created a decently sized exodus. I know where their true intentions are and they can’t undo that.

I popped into the r/gundeals sticky on reddit and the top posts read like a battered spouse forgiving the abuser for making an “honest mistake”. It’s uncomfortable to say the least.

Edit: This move is making people completely forget that r/gunsforsale was and still is gone, so it’s not like reddit really learned it’s lesson.

Man behind 3D gun files, spoils the left's celebration over ban with major announcement. Wilson will simply sell the files he's been unconstitutionally banned from posting. submitted by Ex-Redditor to guns

Yet again I’ll simply shake my head at the absurdity of this pearl clutching. This ruling is nonsensical and obviously biased as fuck. The sooner somebody takes it to SCOTUS the better, because it will get BTFO.

Second point is that pipe and zip gun guides, with guns which are about the same level of effectiveness as the liberator have been publically available for decades. Even sells the official US Army handbook on improvised weapons that shows step by step how to make various pipe guns. If guides for these guns, which are often illegal to make without an NFA stamp, are freely available, how in the heck can a gun which meets the current legal guidelines have it’s blueprints be illegal?

EA's 'Battlefield V' will be a 'serious disappointment,' says preorders lag 'Call of Duty' by more than 85% submitted by Feces_the_clown to gaming

Politics aside, I get anti-hyped when I see a “historical” shooter where everybody is running around with custom guns. I know that technically collimated optics existed, but it looks dumb as hell when everybody is running around with a red dot in WW2 and all kinds of crazy mods that are thinly justified because a prototype of the mod existed somewhere in a testing armory.

The whole point of historical shooters is to get immersed. Plus WW2 by its nature smoothly enables class based gameplay because the real life weapons were all so distinct from each other in how they operated.

I’m burnt out of these unlockathon skinner boxes.

What is your favorite Fallout without mods? submitted by valk2 to gaming

More_Bort 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

It’s got the best atmosphere. There is creativity and some real grunge to it. The gameplay still holds up. I love the aspect of having a time limit for the first half, which adds some actual tension missing from the other games.

I think Fallout 2 and New Vegas are both very faithful to the first game and what it tried to do. I have the most hours of any Fallout in New Vegas with the Project Nevada and a few other mods enabled.

Fallout 3 went down the wrong path both in gameplay and lore. Some for examples would be scaling enemy levels, I hate that shit. As well as unkillable children who are also part of a main quest. I understand if a game has to make children unkillable for ratings reasons, but you aren’t supposed to highlight that fact by actively making the player want to kill them.

The lore and worldbuilding is a complete mess and makes little sense. I have always suspected that the game was originally supposed to be set immediately after the bombs dropped, which makes a lot of the issues in the game line up.

Fallout 4 was everything I hated about FO3 but pumped up on steroids. Worldbuilding made no sense, and dumbed down RPG elements. The base building stuff belonged in its own game, not shoehorned into a main title game.

I remember Fallout Tactics but from my recollection it was broken. If you want something with a similar vibe, I really enjoyed the Wasteland 2 (Redux Edition) release.

I’m trying to switch out but every alternate I’ve tried has died or lost functionality, so I’m a bit slow to change out now.
