I was in school at the time just a few hours south (that's considered a few miles down the road in Texas measurements.) At the time, local news coverage was not well organized or controlled. Every night they reported on the numbers of Texans driving in to help defend the Branch Davidians. Law enforcement was confiscating their weapons and turning them around. This wasn't buses, it was groups of regular people in pickup trucks. The longer it went on the more people were showing up. I am certain this contributed to the governments nervousness and eventual decision to move in. Never seen it mentioned after the fact. If anyone has seen this covered anyplace, I would love to see it.

All tech companies are worried. Any cutback on H1-B will mean they will have to pay more for tech labor. They have spent decades fighting wage increases (often illegally.) A lot of tech workers watched their wages drop by half following the turn in the millennium and left the field. Getting them back will mean paying attractive salaries again.

Please don't apologize for what you might think of as "rambling on." I for one would much rather see a long, thought out post that I disagree with (I don't disagree with you in this case though) than a short sentence filled with trollish acronyms, insults about ones mother, complaints that one should "go back to reddit" or general character insults. Long posts such as yours just add value to the community. Please keep on postin.

Nope. The nose survived. Its location is a poorly held secret in Archeological circles. A lot of Egyptian antiquities are "lost" in various countries to avoid repatriation. What the University of Chicago has in its off campus warehouses would stock several museums..... but the nose is in a closed area of a public institution (not the US) containing Mesoamerican archives. Most people who happen on it don't know what it is.

Ugh.. Several forums recommended horse-feed as a base for fermentation. Sounds great... lots of grain variety, molasses and plenty of fortification. Tried it several times wondering what I was doing wrong... Then I started inspecting the conditions of the feed and where it was kept. What I did not know is that there is zero effort to keep it clean while mixing and packaging. So the mix is a perfect base for bacteria, mold, yeast... basically everything. Then it makes it to the feed store and is stacked on the ground that is covered in an even worse base of animal dung, urine, decaying hay, etc. So when a consumer buys it... who the fuck cares? Horses have a complex stomach and can handle it... but no amount of boiling will ever kill everything. Mixing boiled feed and sugar results in immediately spoiled mash and becomes a foul smelling mess within a day or two. Never again.
