You should require a certain amount of CCP before you can create a subverse submitted by Nofrill to ideasforvoat

I don't like this.

I am mostly a lurker. When I do post I tend to stay away from more populated subverses. The time it will take for me to reach even 50 CCP is going to be huge. At the time of writing this I've been here 5 months and right now I have only 41 CCP.

I also would like to have a few subverses for my own reasons. And I feel like this restriction would be unjust for people like me just because I am not participating in the way that you are, even though my participation is not negative.

Why restrict access to part of voat for people like me?

Atko will probably be posting an announcement on Voat's status on Monday submitted by OhBlindOne to news

Rumor has it that there is a really good AMA organizer that may be looking for work, too. I bet she could help out! /s

You misunderstand my point. It took me about 2-3 months to get 20 CCP due to my posting style. Where as some jackass can repeat jokes or spam memes in other subverses and get 50 CCP in a matter of hours.

This proposal restricts people who lurk. This proposal restricts people who have differing opinions. All the while encouraging people to mindlessly conform.

I [M27] and [F18] are flirting a lot and starting to fall for each other. Is this age gap too extreme? submitted by kyle to relationships

I should note that my girlfriend and I are also non-monogamous. She went on a date (and had sex) with a guy last Wednesday. She told me all about it the day afterwards, too. For a year and a half of our relationship I was dating a 2nd girl. I think this is one thing that lets such an old fart...

Does it make me a hypocrite to be against censorship but also think it is ridiculous that /v/jailbait is here? submitted by Steeledl to AskVoat

I haven't been to the subverse, either, but I assumed that it in a mirror of reddit's /r/jailbait, which was as I described it, clothed teenagers. Also, child porn is so very illegal that any of it on a website gets shut down FAST.

I was a part of a smaller new aggregate website (similar to Fark) where a user submitted a link to child porn. The police and FBI were contacted by the site owner and that user was permanently removed.

I don't like this article for many reasons. Not because I disagree with it (I agree with the article more than I disagree with it) but because it looks like some extremely poorly done journalism.

One, labeling people against you as a "cabal" is manipulative. In my opinion it shows that the author is worried about his or her stance and does not have a solid foundation. Furthermore, it makes me feel that the author is more interested in influencing the reader to his or her opinion than presenting the reader with credible facts and letting the reader decide.

Two, the image in the article is unreadable unless you right-click and hit "view image." (Or whatever your browser default is.) A larger image, or a zoom option without extra effort shows lack of effort on the article writer's part.

Three, (maybe 2.5?) while referencing the pie chart they give very little details. They say "46% Either" Not being able to read the chart made me really confused at this point in the article. I was not confused by the conclusion reached by one Miss Sarkeesian, but by the article writer's lack of details. I am of the opinion that I should not be confused by the article itself when reading news articles.

Four, The "laughter ensued" and "cockroaches" stabs were really rude and uncalled for. It makes the article writer out to have an agenda, and not just any agenda, but a vitriolic filled agenda. When someone has an agenda I tend to not trust them as I would an impartial source, but an agenda filled with hate and spite...that's what Miss Sarkeesian has and it is uncouth and unbecoming.

Is it too much to ask for journalistic integrity on a topic so closely related to journalistic integrity?
