Why doesn't Voat start a KickStarter or a GoFundMe? I see a lot of people that want to donate but are intimidated by bitcoin submitted by lordgenome to AskVoat

What is the best/easiest way for non-bitcoin users to donate with bitcoin?

Police officers smashed an innocent autistic teens head into a concrete sidewalk, punched him in the face as he screamed to his family for help then released him with no explanation submitted by DoNotTrustMe to news

Most large/modern police departments are training their officers on dealing with this kind of situation. They are dangerous and most officers will think they are being non-compliant and not know why. That being said police have a long way to go still. It's a difficult thing to train for and many small towns do not have money to train and even more don't understand the problem well enough to fix it.

Most departments around me require a 4 year degree. This doesn't mean they have adequate training to recognize all mental disorders. My wife is a special ed teacher who specializes is autism and I've worked in law enforcement for 12 years so it's a topic we have talked about a lot. The current level of training in this category is sub par but it is getting better. Most cops in the cities around me receive double the required training. Unfortunately not all departments are that lucky. But like I said before it is a problem that is being addressed in most departments.

As a new father who grew up on video games, this makes me excited to one day share these experiences with my son.
