Government Guaranteed Income is Not a Solution submitted by daskapitalist to economics

Current welfare cliffs drop hardest just shy of an income of $30k, with a total of benefits of $57k. http://thesilicongraybeard.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-welfare-cliff-visualized.html

Median household income was almost $51k in 2012. The Federal government in 2012 was spending about $60,000 per household living below the poverty line. http://www.mygovcost.org/2012/11/14/bigger-welfare/ I believe Milton Friedman suggested the savings would come from lower administrative cost and reduced inefficiency in welfare allocation. Something like they would give you $500 in rent assistance and $400 in food stamps but you can only find a place for $600 and only spend $300 on food. Now people launder food stamps into dollars to buy other goods.

I still like negative income tax in as much as it moves us further away from the government telling us how we must live.

I've never seen this outlet/source before; whatdoesitmean.com. The article certainly felt credible but does anybody have any information about their credibility overall?
