Insider Says Reddit Plans Lawsuit Against Voat.co submitted by deleted to news

I'm guessing it would have trouble getting anywhere near the front page of reddit. There's a reason most people didn't know about Ellen Pao's background until recently, most posts regarding it were easy enough to keep censored without people noticing it. The only reason they haven't been able to avoid it recently is that the shitstorm they would face for complete censorship of Pao criticism would make recent events look tame by comparison. If Reddit waits a month until people calm down and then files a lawsuit while letting a select couple posts about it onto the frontpage, most people won't even know about it.

Apparently God spoke to Russell Wilson during the Super Bowl. submitted by BomTrady to NFL

This feels to me like Wilson isn't taking responsibility for his throw. Even if he really thought he heard God's voice, he should keep this one to himself. Wilson's basically saying he had no control over the play just because God wanted to see if he could overcome adversity. If God really wanted to test Wilson, he wouldn't have sent him to the team with the best defense and an elite running back.

Hello there everyone. Another Redditor here (8 years) jumping ship. I already like the look and feel of this place and I'm actually really excited to start fresh and help build something great, submitted by Thoughtninja to introductions

I'm hopeful too, but I can't help but think similar things were said when people were switching over from Digg to Reddit. Its just too easy for puns to get upvoats, since they don't take long to read and are somewhat gratifying. I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if we labeled joke comments and then had them only earn 1/2 point for each upvoat to balance it out.

The male/female ratio leaves much to be desired, 90% men feels high even by Reddit standards

Kansas City Chiefs Safety Eric Berry has reportedly successfully defeated cancer. submitted by jackieclay to NFL

He might still be under contract with the Chiefs, but either way I can't see him going anywhere else. Not that I wouldn't be thrilled to have him on the Eagles.

I've finally decided to create a Voat account. Hello there! submitted by eldar to introductions

People on reddit used the downvote button to downvote anything they disagreed with, rather than just misinformation, spam and shitposting. Hopefully having to earn the right to downvote will improve things on voat.
