Microsoft makes final, aggressive Windows 10 upgrade push: "the upgrade is approved when the user either clicks the "OK" button or the "X" in the upper right corner of the notification. submitted by ElspethTirel to technology

That's... diabolical. I'd be pissed if I dismissed this message only to find out Windows 10 had helped itself to a large chunk of my bandwidth cap while I was out.

Thank you, sir. I originally intended this for /v/movies but realized it would be discourteous to the community there; however, /v/whatever is free game and posting in /v/jokes would have made guessing the punchline too easy.

Then we'll have to confront those wrongs when they occur. We can't deny someone from a valid process just because they "might do something wrong later". Or even if they will do something wrong later. We're not the thought police here. If someone violates Voat's terms of service, they're banned. If they mistreat the community, we can as a community take action, move to another subverse, do whatever we feel we need to within the limits of Voat's TOS. But we shouldn't deny someone their rightful process just because we disagree with their views. If we do that then we're just the same as Reddit. I'd rather be better.

This isn't Reddit. Stop upvoating shite, and then wadding into the comments sections, based on the title alone. Read the fucking articles. submitted by Salicaz to whatever

I blocked /v/politics and its much better. Now I feel like a get a normal amount of politics through /v/AskVoat, /v/Whatever, /v/news, and /v/ShowerThoughts without it dominating the feed. And as a result, I see more small subs in /v/all that I'm not subbed to, which is awesome.

I made a thread over at /v/news to suggest that old yet relevant articles (allowed by rule 1) should include a date in the title so that it's clear when an article is old news.

I like that /v/news gives leeway to old yet relevant articles, but often these posts are voted up just because people see them and assume they're new.

Including the date in the title for old posts would allow voaters to see which stories are old and vote on relevancy. Rule 1 already defines old as older than 30 days.
