Baldur's Gate is getting a full-sized expansion, 15 years later submitted by GeekPhotography to gaming

Looks interesting, but I feel like not making it a standalone is a mistake. I'm not interested in buying BG1 again (the EE) just to play this. Guess I'll wait for the inevitable Steam bundle sale.

I remember when this happened, it was during late Beta as I recall. We were all getting disconnected and the server was up and down with all the activity. Just getting anywhere near the castle where LB was speaking was nearly impossible with the rubber banding and such. Rainz was no choir boy, and there were plenty of rumours about what 'really' happened, but I always felt they went overboard with the reaction. Sour grapes I suppose. I still have my Beta CD...anyone remember the Ultima Dragons...you kids get off my lawn.

Really testing my memory here, but I remember they used the end-of-Beta routine and spawned a bunch of Balrogs, made the guards go aggressive, tossed meteor spells and so on. Basically they shut down the servers and kicked everyone out so we were all just kind of left in the dark about what had really occurred. This was pretty early in the days of the interwebz so it wasn't like we all could just hop on the TeamSpeak server or Skype each other or whatever - you had to dial into your service, check the handful of forums, make a few phone calls to put it together. I remember a lot of drama on the forums about the banning and whether it was his guild that was responsible and he was just the fall guy. I think they banned a few others as well, but I might be getting that mixed up. I went on to play UO a couple of years but eventually EQ became my main game. As for myself and my friends we thought it was pretty funny. While we always loved the Ultima games (at least up through 8) LB was considered a bit of a goof to be honest. I mean we respected what he had made, but there was no denying he was...eccentric. So it was a bit amusing to see him knocked down a peg. Good times.

If you enjoy rogue-likes, or small RPGs check out the 'Pixel Dungeon' games. My favorite is Soft Pixel Dungeon, as it is a bit easier (the original is brutally hard). Also if you like Crosswords, check out 'Shortyz'. Those are just 2 I've been enjoying lately.

Facebook says no sex apps on Oculus, but wont discuss limits on violence submitted by Huntermbradley to technology

The fact they are trying to control the content that can be used on a hardware device spells death for the technology. I was an early developer backer and lost interest once FB bought them out. The writing was on the wall, pun intended.

I AM holding out hope for the Valve/HTC effort - if they can leverage Steam games in the rollout they could break the market wide open.
