I know there has been a tiresome debate about protecting jailbait because it isn't illegal, but is it? I checked the sub and /v/TrueJailbait, where I found a lot of naked 13 year old girls. What now? submitted by Stoic to AskVoat

I just posted about this in /v/voat, but I'll say it again here: As of July 2014, 18 is the age for child porn in Switzerland. the /v/jailbait sidebar no longer mentions 16 year olds, but they also don't specify 18. That should be very visibly displayed on their sub, and I also think /u/Atko or the mods should remove any and all posts featuring nudity that were made while the sidebar had a 16 year old age listed.
Atko should also read up on child porn regulations and tools to prevent child porn. I'm sure there are materials out there that help websites police themselves and fight child porn. He can't sit idly by, he needs to take an active stance against this. This isn't like other laws. You can host illegally downloaded music all you want and nobody will care. But even a hint of child porn will attract government agencies, it will get Paypal to shut down your account, it will get you booted off of a German web server, etc. Google and Bing remove sites from their search results if they have child porn. And a lot of people will avoid having anything to do with a site that doesn't have strict rules and enforcement mechanisms in place to deal with this. Atko should either personally or appoint people to police /v/jailbait and related subs. Don't trust the mods or users, because I doubt the mods and users of a jailbait sub are going to care.
EDIT: The more I think about it, I don't think a jailbait sub should be allowed to have any nudity. I understand creepshots of 15 year old girls is a gray area and is technical legal if they're not naked. I personally would like to see it all banned, but whatever. But even if jailbait doesn't allow nude pictures under 18, the fact is this: A subverse encourages users to post sexualized pictures of young girls, while also allowing them to post naked pictures of girls who are of unknown age as long as the poster claims the girl is at least 18. We have a sub full of 13 year old girls in bikinis side-by-side with naked girls of unknown age that we're hoping are 18. That's not something this site can tolerate.

Age of consent in Switzerland is 16 for sex. As of July 2014, they signed onto a child porn treaty that bumped the age up to 18 for porn. So yes, they were actively encouraging users to post content that is illegal in Switzerland. And who verifies the age of the girls posted? The admins are too busy. People who don't want to masturbate to teenage girls aren't on that sub. So we have a sub full of pictures of underaged girls in mini-skirts and naked pictures of girls of unknown age, with the only reason to believe they are 18 (or 16, even though 18 is the legal minimum) are the same people masturbating to underage girls in miniskirts.
Until Voat has the resources to have outside admins/mods police that sub, I don't trust it, sorry. Particularly when the people running the sub never even bothered to look into child porn laws in Switzerland, and most of the people on that sub are from the US regardless.

Can we not? This isn't even funny. This is just dumb circle-jerking for the sake of dumb circle-jerking. Why can't we make voat a more drama-free alternative from that other site? There are plenty of other subverses for you to whine about feminists.

What has happened in the past 24 hours specifically regarding the TPP that is more important than a major step in securing equal rights for gays and lesbians? Or are you expecting the media to ignore every other news event and just keep repeating the same stories about TPP?
