Welcome to the United States of America. I see you've found our glorious diabeetus aisle in what is, I'm sure, a grocery store with only tasty sugar and fat-loaded "food". Please enjoy your stay, but remember - you can't leave till you've acquired the requisite 35lbs.

How are these giant weaklings supposed to lift it to their gaping mouths? I guess one of their poor children could hold it up to them while they suck it through a straw...

Attach a rubber teat to it and feed them like a calf?

Hell, I don't buy 2-liters (or even the 750mL) ones because they go flat. I get those tiny 222mL cans of diet-whatever.

Soda is disgusting, what is the appeal to it?!

Part of it is the caffeine and some Sodas do taste good.

Oddly enough I have family concerned now because I started openly drinking Rockstar Fruit Punch instead of Pepsi. Because they have a fraction of the sugar and a lot more caffeine. "Energy drinks aren't good for you!"

It's sweet, often with additional flavors like citrus.

It usually has kola and caffeine in it, both of which are stimulants that make you feel less tired.

They're usually carbonated, giving a certain mouthfeel that many like.

I like perrier for the carbonated feeling. soda pretty much is liquid sugar.

Ehh, I hate excessively sweet food/beverages. To me, soda taste like very concentrated liquid sugar. I haven't had soda in years. The only thing I can see of value is the caffeine, but I only need caffeine in the morning... and soda in the morning sounds even more terrible. Plus, unless you drink the diet kind, soda has empty and useless calories. I would rather drink my black coffee ( I don't put anything in it). And, as a side note, I would hate to share a habit that fat people have

It's pretty good for making you feel a bit full, or cancel hunger, when you just don't want to or don't have time to eat. That's the only reason I drink soda (only diet) now.

I barely ever drink it, but sometimes, I just really get a craving, maybe it's just childhood nostalgia.

Though, I am actually sitting here sipping my Irn Bru (sugar free) right now, which is the first time I've drunk the stuff in about 3 years.

Those have existed in my country for a very long time. I assumed that in the US you guys have had them for even a longer time... but I think we just outfatted the fatmasters.

US citizen here, I see generic sodas come in 3-liter bottles all the time but this is the first I've seen Coca-Cola doing it.

I thought we had them, but maybe it was only store brand. It's what you buy when you're having a shit ton of people over for a bbq.

3 liter bottles in the US first appeared in the early 1980s, but the major brands stopped selling them pretty quickly. You could only find Coke and Pepsi products in the 3 liter bottle for a couple of years and then they went away.

Can't they just home deliver it to a holding tank, like heating oil? Save some wear and tear on the beetus scooters.
