It's but a small price to pay for the benefits of enrichment. Benefits such as....such as...increased enrichment..and...multiculturalism?
[–] William_Wallace 0 points 8 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago
The best part of multiculturalism is that it promotes being multicultural. Can't argue with that. The enrichment is bonus.
History is filled with stories of great empires that opened up their borders to barbarian hordes. It never fails, and those empires are stronger today for it, just ask the emperor of Rome.

but how many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?
[–] RedditDead2005-2015 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
The French took the expression, "If you can't beat them, then join them" and simplified it to "Join them so we can avoid any fighting".

They aren't even really doing anything according to the article. Its not like they're going into the No Go Zones and turning them into Go Zones.

[–] 1Sorry_SOB 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
A mother fucking good question, mate but it's probably illegal to ask that in France.
[–] EarlPoncho 0 points 19 points 19 points (+19|-0) ago
they only have 10,000 troops lol. it's like these countries want to be taken over
[–] bobcall 0 points 11 points 11 points (+11|-0) ago
The title is misleading
So, I'm sure they have a lot more people who are ready to be deployed if needed.

As the article pointed out, it's likely a political measure meant to assuage the fears of French citizens. Whether these soldiers will actually prevent or even effectively respond to an attack is up for debate. Soldiers are not necessarily trained to be as precise as SWAT teams or SOF, increasingly the likelihood of civilian casualties during a firefight between French soldiers and terrorists.
