She's not diagnosed with anything. I don't think she has an OCD disorder but she is very, very obsessive about certain things. Like, honestly the silverware has to be loaded in the right order in the dishwasher type stuff. She saves all sorts of plastic utensils, runs them through the dishwasher even though every cabinet in the kitchen is packed with real dishes. I got so aggravated one day when I was unloading the dishwasher and needed to put a glass up there and there was nowhere for it to fit because fucking disposable plastic cups were up there. Just random disposable cups.
She has collections of the strangest things. Fabric. A 10x10 storage building full of fabric because she quilts and she might need that fabric one day. And a huge jar of buttons. Just regular old generic buttons. She collects them.
I mean, there's something a bit off at the very least. I'm not doc so not going to guess a dx, just know some of it's pretty abnormal behavior.

Sounds like hoarding type behaviour. Good thing you're getting out of there in like a year.
I'm surprised the plastic shit doesn't melt in the dishwasher.

Honestly, when she's not around I throw a piece away here and there. I mean, give me an effin break. We have a drawer full (cram packed full) of plastic cutlery. Some individually wrapped like you get when you order take out, others boxed, some loose. Then last weekend she did an Easter dinner with her family and went out and bought new, full size packages of... plastic ware and paper plates. We had plenty already. There were 6 people here, not a freaking huge party. So now the over crowded packed plastic utensil drawer is even more stuffed.
I seriously had a jaw drop moment when I opened the dishwasher one day to find a plastic drinking straw in there. I mean, you know the kind you get in your to go drinks? Yeah, it was in the dishwasher. I threw it away.
I do a little subversive stuff from time to time. Nothing overt bc I don't want to have to rush to move out but just enough for me to get a hint of satisfaction in this cartoon world I'm living in. I agree, I think hoarding is a problem.
