The doctor probably said that fats do get strep more, but the fat in its ears prevented it hearing.

sugar negatively impacts the immune system, so I bet there is a link between sugar addicts and strep throat, in terms of susceptibility, recovery times, and any other metric that likely tracks healthiness in general.
