It's honestly hard for me to really call $15 "full price", even ignoring the fact that I personally believe I got a lot more enjoyment out of it than the $15 I've put into other titles. (And there's still two free DLC updates to go as I understand it.)
That said, when I built my first PC, the video card from this particular vendor came with a free copy of Thief and I played the hell out of it despite the fact that this card cost me no more from this manufacturer than others. A good game is going to have better player engagement, price doesn't really change word of mouth. Occasionally reviews get nudged based on price and I don't think that's really relevant to reviewing the quality of a game, only relevant when reviewing the value of the game.
If you'll excuse my admittedly baseless conjecture, I think Yacht Club is just trying to defend not having any discounted sales. I don't blame them when they have a hot seller, there's really no need to discount especially at the low full-price. But people respond to sugar coated PR responses so I guess they know what they're doing.
