Links from this website sometimes will show the article briefly then it will transition to a page that says, "no hotlinking please" Like, WTF? I have various add-ons that are supposed to fix that sort of shit, and I'm not gonna tinker, I'm just gonna leave. If you don't want clicks, FINE BE THAT WAY

Annoying ads on the net need to be done for. They hardly pay, they are an exausted model. Micro services are the new wave, places where you can go and pay $1 in bitcoin a month and you get some kind of cool service. Often these things are technical, either secure email or a seed box or openvz containers. One day the model may hit social sites. I don't think it will be a bad thing.

You have a very generous window of almost and entire second after the site loads where can click on the stop icon in the url bar so it does not give you the message.

Their blocking is very easy to circumvent yet it is not worth doing it to visit that site again. Nothing of value was lost.

Know what I wonder? Is how do they make money with those ads in the first place? I literally have not clicked on an ad in over a decade, even before there were ad blockers. Who does that? Grannies who don't know any better? I mean I know only a fraction of 1% has to actually spend money in order for the ad to be profitable but still ... hard to imagine it making enough to support whole sites.

For a lot of sites their only source of revenue is ads..just saying. I use ad-block pretty often too but I disable it for certain sites. I feel bad about it :(

That's fine. The problem is that these companies do nothing to screen the ads on their sites.

Me too. More an exception than the rule. There are a very few sites I hand pick to view ads on, with the explicit purpose of supporting those sites. The first time they get annoying though, that site is back on the list.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately, There's way too many sites that have malware and/or load slower that crap. These sites ruin it for everyone.
