Red Cross already had a terrible reputation. Charities are mostly for laundering and tax evasion. Anti-cancer charities barely fund research. It's sad.

There was some shadiness going on with the Red Cross all along, did we ever find out where the money went that was donated for Haiti? There was something going on with that, hundreds of millions were donated and the red cross refused to tell where the money was spent or something like that.

Sadly, many, if not the majority, of today's charities have degenerated from great ideas into money making operations for their directors. It's a great scam for far too many.

I stopped donating to charity the second a large cancer charity sold my details to telemarketers, im more likely to fund a pro-cancer campaign then donate to a charity.

Yeah, I know, it sucks. They've made most charities into big businesses that worry about their own bottom line, and nothing about those they're supposed to be helping.

Not to say this should discourage people from making donations to charity, its just you should do your research into the charity before making your investment, pick the right one that delivers the best return on investment.

Only donate to a charity that makes its entire expenses/donations public. If they're hiding data, there's a reason.
