The iPhone 6 in comparison to the Apollo Guidance Sytem that first took men to the moon:
Transistors: iPhone has 130,000 times more than Apollo
Clock frequency: iPhone is 32,600 times faster than Apollo
Instructions per second: iPhone is 80,800,000 times faster than Apollo
Overall performance: iPhone is 120,000,000 times faster than Apollo
Or 1 iPhone 6 could theoretically guide 120 million Apollo rockets at the same time.

Either way, one is left wondering why people continued pursuing computing technology with cost/return like that.
That's what people will be saying in another 60 years about your set up too. Everything has to start somewhere and can lead to unimaginable things.

I did not look to see how big the file was before I started to download e-books. I looked away for about three seconds and it was done. Couldn't believe it.
edit: I just looked and the first 2 books I saw were about 3 MB.

This would be the hard disk drive for the IBM 305 RAMAC. The first RAMAC was used in the U.S. auto industry by Chrysler's MOPAR Division and more than 1,000 systems were built. You could not purchase the HDD but could lease it for around $3,200 a month, the equivalent of about $28,000 today.
