Welcome to the panopticon:
The concept of the design is to allow all (pan-) inmates of an institution to be observed (-opticon) by a single watchman without the inmates being able to tell whether or not they are being watched. Although it is physically impossible for the single watchman to observe all cells at once, the fact that the inmates cannot know when they are being watched means that all inmates must act as though they are watched at all times, effectively controlling their own behaviour constantly.

since i saw the proves of nsa spying especially americans my believe that its the beginning of the end for the greatness of america took the final shape.. mainly in my view america got strong thanks to the non-laws not to the fuckload of laws... which normally should be consensuses or a form of organization npo fucking way imposing laws from the shitpoint a to the shitpoint z which is thousands miles from a and things like that.... i always tht america was fucking retarded at federal lvl and lately in got smart but with the cost of getting the rest of the country fucked up. thats what happens when morons gets their tails where it wouldnt belong.

Snowden happens to be a surveillance expert. I also believe that surveillance and war is about driving the country into unmanageable debt. Shock and privatize.......http://www.ama#on.com/The-Shock-Doctrine-Disaster-Capitalism/dp/0312427999

See: 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, the animes Psycho-Pass 1 and 2, etc etc etc.
If the people had any sense at this point we would have already stopped Govt from using invasive surveillance.

Almost seems too late. Only one presidential candidate, at least of Democrats and Republicans, advocates for reigning in domestic surveillance. Honestly it seems just a matter of time before the rich have the privilege of shutting off their telescreens for a few hours everyday.

And before now there were exactly 0 candidates in favor of reigning in domestic surveillance.
I think it's easy to get frustrated when you look at things only from your perspective. Imagine for a second you're a part of establishment politics. You want to maintain the US economic might through reliance on the petro dollar and using our military to support such. You want to reign in any sort of organized protest against the government through domestic surveillance and pitting the people against each other on petty matters while ignoring most of what matters. You want to globalize America's economy and force American workers to be forced to compete against Indian workers happy to perform technical tasks for $3/hour.
And now let's look at what's actually happening:
That's just in the past couple of years. Do you think things are going to get more or less favorable for establishment politics in the years to come? Let's imagine Hillary wins this year. After 8 years of her selling off our country and policy to the highest bidder, how do you think people are going to be acting in 2020? 2024? And that's just 8 years. How about 16, 24, 40 years down the line? The petro-dollar? HAH! Tesla was overwhelmed with pre-orders for an electric vehicle coming out in 2 years and the prices will only drop at the same time performance continues to skyrocket. And an increasing number of people are already generating enough home electricity off renewables that they're independently selling surplus back to the grid.
Yeah, you think things look bad for us? Look at the world through the eyes of the establishment.
