What non-sense. Conflating outside sales with tech knowledge workers is intellectually dishonest. As is implying overall Amazon employment times (largely manual labor in their warehouses) is the same as for their knowledge workers. Actual tech workers are in high demand, hence why their compensation is so high. They also have unusually high onboarding times due to the complexity of their skill set and the need to transition tribal knowledge, which is why companies try to keep them happy and provide work life balance - it's hard, expensive, and very time-consuming to replace tech workers.

The trouble with the media and with modern media especially (Buzzfeed...) is that most journalists are pantywaist fuckups who couldn't hack it at a real job. I know a few journalists, every one of them is a bohemian milksop.

This sounds identical to where I work, down to being called "rockstars." We're eveaulted purely by computer gathered metrics and the threat of being fired looms over us if those numbers drop. Every one of my coworkers is looking for a new job, at which point the company will flood more in and threat them like dirt for awhile.

Meh... My intuition is that some of those people that you give the sack are either going to go out and get other jobs at the competition - where they'll probably give away all your secrets - or go off and form their own start ups - if they have the capital. If your business plan is to provide training - that you've paid for - for your current and future competition, then that doesn't sound like a good plan to me. No matter how fungible a commodity you may think your employees are. That you would do that and also give them a reason to hate you by presumably treating them like shit doesn't sound too clever either.
That's the great thing about having free markets, while you can fuck people they also get to fuck you. I'm wondering if they're going to be as smug when the shoe is on the other foot.

reminds me of those books about utopia like societies where they never refer to death as death but make it some cheery ceremony where they euthanize the person and no one knows whats up.
