Because the commie left can't use it to advocate a gun ban for the military. That's too far fetched even for them... so far.
The news media couldn't care less about reporting on news, their entire goal is to force a fascist, leftist, radical agenda on the populace.

Left conquer
FIFY. That's really all the media is interested in.

Was the shooter anything except white? If so, media doesn't want to touch it.

They hyped it up as an active shooter and like SquarebobSpongebutt said it turned out to be a murder suicide. Seems to me they wanted to distance themselves from it to avoid looking like idiots for blowing it out of proportion.

Facts for everybody:
First, you do know it was a Technical Sergeant.
Second, he was facing administrative punishment.
Third, not much details at the moment. It'll be brought up again when they do the information release. They'll probably even say what he was going to get in trouble for.

I used to be stationed there (in a different unit) and I came pretty close to mass murder. The thing about the military is that you can't just quit. You can't just tell your boss to suck your dick and walk out. There are severe penalties for insubordination and refusal to work, which is why I can't stand it when people imply that civilian cops aren't civilians. Officer Fatass at the Podunk PD can tell Chief Wiggims to fuck off and not have to worry about anything but some missed paychecks. But anyway, I'm surprised shit like this doesn't happen dozens of times a year. If you get a sadistic supervisor in the military there is often no legal recourse besides grinning and bearing it.

An airman shot his commander, murder-suicide like Full Metal Jacket, no real story there.

its too bad that people crack. If you can make it through basic, you're typically tough as shit.
Its gotta be hard though, coming from our pampered lives to a place where you are not the special snowflake.

Son just came back this week from AIT. Every time I talked to him in BCT he was complaining about how bad most of the other people were, no respect, not following orders, etc. I mean, you signed up for the fucking military, did you expect them to treat you like your parents and let you do whatever you wanted? Fuck no, they want to break you down and turn you into a soldier who follows orders. And in the process a few of the eggs crack permanently.

Really? This is your position without knowing the facts.
First, you do know it was a Technical Sergeant. (He hasn't had a "pampered life" in a while.)
Second, he was facing administrative punishment. (Not somebody off the bus after basic ill prepared for acclimation)
