I was fine with the line.
The problem is all the bugs and surrounding writing. A flavour text bit, while it can be annoying, is nothing compared to some of the actual writing I have seen people putting up.

No one asked them to remove the line, not even gators. Beamdog did that because they thought it would somehow "fix" the situation they cooked up for themselves.

I've yet to see anyone demand it be removed. People simply point out that attacking your customers is a great reason to not buy the game.

Removing the line was an attempt at damage control, as was the admission that the trans character was not written well. I can only conclude the game has not been selling as well as they expected.
Weren't the complaints about the line mostly to do with it being out of character? I still think this would have been a very minor incident if that writer had not said she inserted SJW stuff into games, she didn't care if it seemed forced and it was tough if gamers didn't like it.
Also I don't buy the argument about being "no better than the SJW's", it is not their tactics that make me oppose them but their ideology.

this is the problem right here.
At the end of the day, regardless of what you think, a game is a product. The gamers are the customers. In this incident, beamdog has demonstrated that they are of the same mentality as EA. the problem, is that EA has access to more money, and better licenses then beamdog.
I have been noticing a trend with these sjw devs: they suck at programming, business, and game design. they have had to rely on putting political messages in their games, rather then on the content of their product.

I don't think anyone cared. Maybe they just thought Gamergate would stop destroying them with the bugs/poor writing if they get rid of the line.
Jokes on them, even non Gamergate gamers think the game has bugs/poor writing.

What was the line?

"Really, its all about ethics in heroic adventuring."
Our mission was never to sensor developers but the exact opposite , if Beamdog want to go full sjw they are free to do so but they will never get my money for as long as their writing remains that bad .
My best friend is 45 , has two children , he is working around the clock to provide for his family yet when we go out i do whores and he gets ladyboys to fuck him in the ass , i have introduced him to various people and he never said " hello my name is Thomas and i like dicks" , a character doing something like this in a game kills suspension of disbelief which is the most important thing in an RPG .

The question will they fix the bugs in the game
[–] BrainBoxBoy [S] 1 point 0 points 1 point (+1|-1) ago
dunno. I do know that removing a line as stupid as it is from the game is diverting resources that could go to bugfixing.

Not really, it's deleting one audio file.
