Because you automatically compensate by eating less later on. The difference in basal metabolic rate is fairly small, +-15% in 95% of the population. Or you could have a tapeworm, but it isn't likely.

I am very disappointed that there are more fries in a bigger container rather then thicker cut McDonalds fries.

This isn't really anything new - Japanese restaurants do mind-bogglingly large burgers all the time as a publicity stunt; the largest is at least 10 patties in connection with Attack on Titan. Pretty sure the American-small sized fries and drink are new, though.
