Aaron Kyro (that skater) is an obnoxious moron.

Also, I'm mostly a PC gamer but I'm definitely investing in a Nintendo console at some point. I feel like the very small areas that PC gaming seems to not cover is Nintendo titles, and I respect them a lot more than Sony/MS now.

Nintendo exists for local multiplayer. PC has a hard time with that.

I believe that is called a 'hard flip', and it is more difficult than a 360 flip IMO (on a skateboard anyways)

They're actually great for DIY clusters. all the hardware is exactly the same, so it makes it comparatively very simple, and because all you need is the console and it's being sold at a loss, the price/performance is pretty high. ps3s were especially good for this, actually, because of the cell processor they used.

they're shit for gaming though.

Could you elaborate a little on what exactly this process is and what it achieves? I don't think I've ever heard of them being used that way.

The poster is referring most likely to the "Condor Cluster" a supercomputer built by the USAF to do image processing by wiring together ~1800 PS3s and installing Linux on them. At the time PS3s were being sold at less-than-cost because Sony knew people would pay the difference by buying games. So the Air Force was buying 1/2 off scalable GPUs. It worked out well for them, but Sony lost their shit, removed the ability to install Linux on all future Playstations and IIRC they sued the USAF for fraud or something.

This was only the case with the PS3 and a few earlier consoles, they are not being sold at a loss anymore. Both XBONE and PS4 are using a shit-tier amd APU; often the same one you find in that $300 Windows 10 laptop. Running games at 720p low quality settings and 30 fps is not indicative of good hardware....

Well, true. They used to be good. It's a shame they aren't anymore.
