It's funny how similar the tactics of both sides are.
20 or 30 years ago when the religious right held quite a bit of power, there were attempts to censor obscene and anti-christian music. Now it's the religious right crying freedom of speech when they want to voice an unpopular opinion regarding members of lgbt groups.

When they were the unpopular, dissenting minority, freedom of speech and expression was massively important to them.
Now that they're popular and mainstream, they seek to shut down any criticism or offensive comments towards them.
