This song still eludes me. I've exhausted my Google Fu and song matching resources. No one I've asked knows it. Anyone here know the song?

OMG thank you! It's even better as a whole song. So I guess I can answer OP's question now. ^^

Camera One by Josh Joplin. I heard a fragment of it once on Scrubs.

Years ago I hear a grunge-style song with a female vocal lead. The chorus is:

It'll collapse of it's own bigness

On me

It'll collapse of it's own bigness

Just like they told me

I've heard it twice on a student-run radio station, but that's all I remember now. I am firmly convinced that there is no mention of it on any lyric site or in google's catalog.

Olde fart here: 34 years.

The Story:

In the early 80's, I visited a certain well-known 3rd world country, I heard a cassette dub of a scratchy, old 78 rpm, 3 minute disc of one of that country's most famous musicians, probably from the 1910's -1920's.

The guy who played it for me wouldn't let me copy it, and told me that the original disc it from was probably unique: a one-off disc, never duplicated, and the 1950's reel-to-reel dub that he copied from was lost.

I listened as hard as I could, and tried to memorize the music....

Fast forward to the mid 2000's... I see on eBay a disc with a title that matches what I remember... it might be it... I bid... I win!

Months go by... the disc arrives!!!!

broken in half....

A few years go by, and I read an article that instructs me that is may be possible to reconstruct the broken disc... by placing the halves together on a turntable, set to 16 rpm, removing the clicks and noise and digitally re-aligning the grooves etc., etc.,... so I learn to do it.

Yeah, it's the same disc, but it 's not nearly as good as I remember from 34 years ago.

Basically all the songs by voodoo dogs. Their first album is more of a world music jazz experiment. It got to the point where I just ended up having a easier time buying the alb than finding tracks online.

Seance - 13th Moon Heard it on a Heavy Metal radio show as a teenager but couldn't find it later. Found it on Spotify. It is almost as good as I remembered.
