Japan and Korea are working hard on it. You're right to be suspicious. Take a look at how this engineer stores hydrogen- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3GDjVskYIs and please visit /v/Hydrogen for more info

Don't get me wrong, I want a solution as much as anyone. I just can't take these snake oil diversions. Running cars on hydrogen/whatever is silly until we have an energy source.

That said, this is very interesting. First I've heard of it, thank you for that. BTW, I'm still pulling for nuclear as the energy source. It looks so workable, reliable, safe, clean, and plentiful when you get past the FUD. But this could be how we get cars to go. Although... if cars are the only thing still burning fossil fuels... no, they stink up the local environment in cities. That alone is a good enough reason to change now.

Well thanks for keeping an open mind. Huge advances will come- I just found and posted this- Saving sunshine for a rainy day: New catalyst offers efficient storage of alternative energies http://news.engineering.utoronto.ca/saving-sunshine-rainy-day-new-catalyst-offers-efficient-storage-alternative-energies/
