I guess I'll have to be the first to mention that in 1933 another individual in a foreign land also came to power via a democratic process.

Because no democracy would elect an authoritarian right leader?

https://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2016

People see Trump as a political outsider but he still spews the same authoritarian heavy government crap that most candidates do. Somehow we got stuck with a 2 party system, where both parties implement policy from the same political spectrum, and people think there is some sort of choice. The thing is Trump has made it clear he doesn't care about the system that has been setup and wants to go out of bounds on everything - seems like a great idea until you start to mix the idea that he is heavily authoritarian with the same ideals.

I guess I'll take the time to post links to articles talking about how authoritarian Trump is but it will be ignored for being from "establishment media":

From statements of how he will expand Obama care to make sure everyone has health insurance: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-60-minutes-scott-pelley/

Donald Trump: There's many different ways, by the way. Everybody's got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, "No, no, the lower 25 percent that can't afford private." But--

Scott Pelley: Universal health care?

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-02-17/who-do-they-think-they-are-donald-trump-slams-apple-decision-refuse-hacking-iphone Increased police state/surveillance into everything electronic domestically. Force private companies to hand over sensitive trade secrets to help in investigations that the company has not been implicated in.

Removal is the go to reaction for political dissent. It is important to note that how Trump is handling protesters is significantly different from any other presidential candidate we have ever had.

The guy has given money to Clinton (and numerous other major Democrats) to campaign on multiple occasions and was considered a Democrat before any of this started. Why people think he is out fighting for their best interests is beyond me - Trump seems like just as much of a snake as Clinton.

Clearly the man has struck a chord with a large majority of people

To which I would say the large majority of people are mindless sheep. It's like saying everyone is doing it so I might as well too. Not the best logic. As far your statement

This is a democratic political system just to reiterate, so in the face of Trump excelling wouldn't the way to stop him be at the ballot box?

In an un-flawed system where votes did actually count towards the eventual outcome sure, but that isn't where we find ourselves.

The majority of people do seem to echo that exact sentiment, being mindless sheep and all

Protest from who, BLM? I wrote them off as either simply ignorant, or as an organized political attack group. (and while the former is still likely, the latter certainty does not preclude it) Now that they've moved into domestic terrorism, they probably will have issues continuing to exist.

From who, the political power structure? This is our protest against them, so of course they're going to do everything they can to stop it. Lie, cheat, murder - there's a reason that Big Donald wears a vest. Result so far is what, 13 people dropping out because he's been in the lead the entire time?

From the media? They've tried everything - even using Hitler comparisons on multiple occasions, but the media hasn't been able to use its tactics to bring him down. Even after SJW take-over of popular websites like reddit, and having Twitter censor his supporters, they haven't been able to stop him online either. Their attacks seem to use the logic of petulant children, or bad comedians.

What we're seeing is people who were sick of the system, people who never even wanted to vote before, who never believed the crap they spew every election cycle. These people against Trump have no credibility with his voters. Instead, since there's so much mistrust, they have the opposite effect and increase his support. We don't like you, we don't trust you, and you know what? We'll go out and vote driven by the desire to spite you.

Theory: This whole Trump thing is being orchestrated to, in fact, incite rioting. Think about it... In 2012 Obama signed the NDRP Executive Order which some believe is another step towards martial law.

When the RNC convenes in July, and they push Trump out, which they say they can do you will have a huge uprising of Trump supporters, many of which are CCW gun owners, which will be pitted against the Black Lives Matter and MoveOn.Org protesters, and there will be shooting in the streets.

Obama will invoke the NDRP Executive Order, and immediately sign a gun ban order and start confiscating guns. And Abracadabra, gun control is completed, and Hilary wins by default.

These shrieking numbskulls don't even know what they're protesting. They don't have a list of demands or any of that. The left has an established pattern of violence and attention-seeking.

Their antics amount to a protest against whiteness. That's literally it. We just had 8 years of a black president and even though he was terrible, white people can't have a white President anymore. It's not even an option because they aren't allowed to show any ingroup mentality.

No more white guys. You can choose between the woman, the Jew, or the Cuban Canadian wacko.

The establishment (and other countries) don't like him because a lot of people will lose cushy jobs and money. These 'protesters' are paid to be upset and lie in order to make trump look bad. The media, of course, owned by these people play it up as if the whole country does not want Trump (I think they said that 2/3 of Americans support Obama, untrue), but the majority have already spoken. If Trump is elected, look for black riots, they've already stated they'll use it as an excuse to cause chaos and destruction.

The question I'd like to table is, to whom and what does he pose such a great threat?

/pol/ had a tread on this, and another thread here on voat copied it. I'm not one for conspiracy theories big ideas that make sense of everything but you may enjoy reading it.

Caution possible opposing viewpoint, proceed with caution if you choose to read on:

I like Trump as a meme, so if he gets elected I'll survive. I also fully support the democratic process. We see rigging and dirty tricks used to buff up a nominee and it's disgusting.

A big part of me is curious to see what the U.S. establishment government is hiding or afraid of losing if Trump is elected.

That said, maybe the opposition is like me a bit too and looks at stuff like how he denies global warming and has never been elected to any public office. I'm concerned that he doesn't fully understand the job and thinks being president is basically bein a CEO/dictator. Feel free to educate me if I'm way off here...

It's a shame, I have to quantify my statements like that. This is becoming a safe space for trump supporters and anyone with an opposing view is getting btfo
