I've really enjoyed Mark Rippetoe's teachings on the squat. He breaks it down into physics and anatomy (protect against muscle impingement, explanations of what moment arms and lost energy is/comes from, etc). This is comprehensive indeed, however! Never stop learning

The next "How to:" he is going to write will be about bench so you'll probably have to wait more, my advice would be to try doing the couch stretch into it or play around with leg and feet placement.
