I have been practicing yoga for years now. I would never dare call myself a yogi because it's disrespectful to those who have fully embraced the yoga lifestyle. Yoga is about acceptance (among other things) and I try to be non-judgemental, but shit like this makes it so hard to not be mad! A real yogi would never advertise it like that.

I don't mind calling myself yogi because i like yoga and I practice ahimsa and am vegan. I'm under no delusions that the Yoga I practice with weights in a heated room and that has lots of cardio mixed in is not traditional yoga. That's OK. As for the fat girl on the left in the photo. She embraces nothing of the yoga lifestyle. Just look at her. And yes that's probably not a very yogi thing for me to say.
Yes! You are shining example of a yogi and deserve to be called such :) I do my best to practice ahimsa (physical aspect is easy, mental not as much), and am pescetarian, but I know I'm not yet there. Maybe this year I'll make that move, but I'm very happy with where my practice is now. As for the fat? You are just stating a fact. She is not in control of her body or mind, most definitely not a yogi. Namaste friend!
