The problem is with the electronic registry used to check in voters before they are allowed to cast ballots, said Orange County Elections Supervisor Bill Cowles said.

He described it as a "hiccup."

There's a paper printout of voters at each precinct, and people can still check in the old-fashioned way, he said.

At least this glitch won't affect voting, as the article goes on to say.

Since the hanging chad fiasco and getting rid of the Diebold machines Florida voting process has improved greatly, it is a paper ballot that works like a bubble test answer sheet. Personally I think this is the best method available, it is a paper ballot, the printing is large enough for people with poor eyesight to read, the counting is quick and has been shown to be accurate, and the ballots are kept until everyone is satisfied with the vote count. The worst method that I had to use was the Diebold touch screens as they were easy to make a mistake on, easy to hack and easy to manipulate, and BTW that was sixteen years ago.
