You will need a special microsoft driver to make sure it performs properly. Also, that will cost $700. Then you'll also have to have a windows 10 machine next to it to keep it company.

Don't see how this is even necessary...Linux has a ton of SQL servers

Edit: my mistake. Linux has a number of database servers and such, but SQL is M$ only. So Linux has alternatives and lots of then but SQL is Microsoft's shit

I'm not sure how this benefits any business. If you have Linux, the cost of the MS OS is trivial, it's the cost of the SQL CAL that will kill you. So, if you're running Linux, why would you want MS SQL in-house, with so many other mature options that are cheaper?
