The bill is H.R.3892 - Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act of 2015 introduced by Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL). It has 29 Republican cosponsors and only one Democrat, Collin Peterson. Twenty years ago it would have been the Democrats proposing this bill and the Republicans opposing it. One of the cosponsors is Dana Rohrabacher who is notorious for continuing to support the mujahideen of Afghanistan after they became the Taliban.

John Conyers denounced the bill as "islamophobia" and called for Congressional action against "anti-Muslim sentiments" instead.

Dana Rohrabacher

Another case of Cold War dementia. Thanks for the link!

Given that ALL Islamic sects, mosques and imams promote terrorism because the quran promotes terrorism (quran 25:52, quran 3:151) and they all claim the quran is the perfect, verbatim word of god and their terrorism-promoting, sex-slaving, pedophile-prophet's behaviors represent moral perfection that Muslims should emulate (quran 68:4 and 33:21)... Why aren't ALL Islamic sects rightfully recognized as terrorist groups too?

This is a good start, however it does need to be expanded to cover all of the Islamic terrorist groups... every single Islamic sect!

Additionally, indoctrinating children into the terrorist, murderous, rapist, pedophile ideology of Islam should be recognized as an act of child abuse that is no less fucked up than encouraging children to maliciously light bush fires or throw bricks from an overpass.

You and I agree on most things including this. Yes, you cannot fix all the named Islamic groups like an endless game of whack-a-muslim. In order to make any real progress the West must go after the core of Islam, itself.

And any "moderate" Muslim groups has to be exposed for their illiberal values. We cannot let any "rock" remain for this subterfuge of "moderate Islam" to hide behind. I think we are gradually getting to this position in the USA.

It amazes me that Christian churches and leaders are not investigating Islam themselves and connecting the dots for their congregations...I can only guess that they think that it would expose their own crazy-ass scriptures and then what do they do? I know the answers for them which is to emphasize the Enlightenment and the Golden Rule and the nice Jesus but that seems to be an intellectual leap for them even though it is their actual reality. It is strange and a real indictment of organized religion. We could really make some progress here if the Religious Christians could just figure out (and be honest about) where their own brand of Christian values actually comes from.

Your posted a comment a few days ago about how you are optimistic about the future and the outcome of current events. I almost responded with a lengthy rant that agreed with you and outlined the rationale for my optimism... but it was a bit too much of a rant so I don't submit it... however I agree entirely with your criticisms of Christian religious institutions which are almost always submissive to Islam.

I suspect the most powerful weapon the civilized world has against Islam is free speech and it is the duty of all civilized people to stand united in opposition and disgust of Islam and the human rights atrocities that all Islamic sects, mosques and imams promote.

When members of the civilized world claim that "moderate" Muslims exist or that "true Islam" is peaceful, it only enables Muslims to feel proud about how disgusting they are.

If this were to cease and if civilized people were to fulfill their duty and express disgust of Islam, that would send a powerful message to the entire Muslim world and especially the younger generation. Sure it would "radicalize" many other Muslims, however it's naive to pretend such human-garbage weren't already radicalized or prone to acting on their fucked-up Islamic beliefs.

I'm optimistic that we will soon witness and end to the insanity of political correctness as the civilized world regain a respect for the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and this revolution will change the theological face of the world.

Bill To Ban Muslim Brotherhood Advances In Congress

2/25/2016 6:35 PM EST

Jihad: Washington’s strategy to defeat terrorism is lacking in many ways, but none more than its failure to attack it at its root: the Muslim Brotherhood. But that may change with the fast-tracking of a bill to outlaw the terror network.

In a major development on this important front, the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday passed a bill to effectively ban the Muslim Brotherhood as a designated terrorist group, 17-10.

The legislation — which freezes Brotherhood assets and also outs its front groups, including hundreds in the U.S. — is headed for the House floor. Its passage there is likely since the GOP leadership supports HR 3892, which has 28 co-sponsors and is steadily gaining new backers each week.

If a companion bill introduced in the Senate by GOP Sen. Ted Cruz passes, it would tee the ban up for a GOP president to sign into law — a dream of FBI case agents across the country, who find elements of the Brotherhood showing up in virtually every terrorism case they work.

The pro-jihad Brotherhood gave rise to Hamas and al-Qaida, and shares ideology with ISIS.

Earlier this month, Senate Homeland Security Chair Ron Johnson, R-Wis., endorsed the companion bill. Now it will also need support from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

Officially designating the Brotherhood a terrorist organization would not only deny U.S. entrance to any foreign national tied to it, but force banks to block financial transactions related to it. What’s more, it would make it a crime for anybody in the U.S. to provide material support to the Brotherhood.

This, in turn, would criminalize hundreds of Brotherhood front groups and mosques in the U.S. that the FBI says secretly support and finance terrorism, allowing the agency to finally put them out of business and turn off a major spigot of jihad flowing in the American Muslim community.

The bill explicitly identifies several mainstream, supposedly “moderate” U.S. Muslim organizations as Brotherhood entities, and cites evidence tying them to the Brotherhood and its Palestinian terrorist wing Hamas.

“Federal prosecutors implicated a number of prominent United States-Islamic organizations in this conspiracy, including the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR),” the text of the bill states.

“These groups and their leaders, among others, were named as unindicted co-conspirators. The Department of Justice told the court that these United States-Muslim Brotherhood affiliates acted at the direction of the international Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorism in a July 2008 court filing,” which revealed:

“ISNA and NAIT, in fact, shared more with (the Holy Land Foundation) than just a parent organization. They were intimately connected with (HLF, now a convicted terrorist front) and its assigned task of providing financial support to Hamas.

“CAIR was later added to these organizations. The mandate of these organizations, per the International Muslim Brotherhood, was to support Hamas.”

The FBI says the Brotherhood’s goal in the U.S, according to secret documents that agents uncovered after 9/11, is to carry out a “grand jihad in eliminating and destroying (America) from within.”

As ex-FBI Director Robert Mueller testified, “Elements of the Muslim Brotherhood both here and overseas have supported terrorism.”

Indeed, many of the terrorist attacks here in the U.S. — including 9/11 and the Boston bombings — were launched with key support from the Brotherhood network. ISIS’ American poster boy, Ahmad Abousamra, was radicalized in a Brotherhood-controlled mosque, as were the San Bernardino and Chattanooga terrorists.

There is no doubt that the Brotherhood is a terrorist group. Making its designation official would dry up a lot of homegrown terrorism.
