You're going to say tofu at some point, and that scares me.
Why go after old favorites? That like remaking the ghostbusters movies into a SJW nightmare. Oh shit, they did that...
Maybe post some new recipes that have no old associations to compete with, because memories of grandmas cooking is going to win out every time.
Most people don't know about the wonderful pasta sauces made from Cauliflower, like my fav that uses olive oil and garlic. Maybe throw something new at them?

Tofu scares you? What did it ever do to you? If you think tofu is "gross" you haven't had it prepared right. I use the comparison that tofu is like white flour. I can't image eating a tablespoon of raw flour but I love me some french bread. It's an ingredient. It can be used well or not to create a huge variety of flavors and textures.
Why go after old favorites?
Because that's what makes it fun and a challenge. I'm not going to post my original recipes (I'm saving them up and going to monetize, son) but it's fun showing how you can hit the same flavor palettes as "traditional" recipes using only plant based sources. It's like a game. It started because I always hear people say how they "could never go vegan" but I've had two people in the last year go vegan after living with me (and eating my cooking every day). I got the same response out of both: neither could believe how easy it is once they had someone to show them the tips and tricks of plant based cooking. And neither one of them felt "deprived" like they couldn't eat what they want. It's not about replicating a meat dish but showing how you can satisfy the same cravings using alternate ingredients.

I think that sounds like a great idea but I'm not trying to convert anyone or win people over. Just looking for ideas for me and my man to try to cook up this weekend. Like I said, it's a game. :)

Thanks for the awesome answer!
As to what tofu did to me, someone made a tofurkey for thanksgiving a couple years ago, scarred me pretty badly. It's my opinion nobody should ever eat a tofurkey.
I am a fan of savory pot pies, someone with goat cheese and sausage and potato and things. What would you do with that?

Yawn
All the obvious things have been done to death. That's why I was hoping for some family recipes that might actually present a challenge.

"veggiducken wraps yams inside veggie stuffing and leaks inside a banana squash. "
Well then, didn't see that one coming.
