Read a food label. If it says castoreum, there is beaver anal secretion in it.

Yeah I'm not arguing the fact that it's used, but my point is its not very common. Due to the difficult nature of extracting castoreum it's rarely used, especially in food. The total amount of castoreum used annually in the US is 300 pounds. Compare that to the 2.6 million pounds of vanillin used annually, and we see that castoreum is actually hardly in any food that's vanilla, strawberry, or raspberry flavored that lists natural flavors as an ingredient. So it's not really in every product with these flavors or that one listed ingredient like the article implies.
