+1 from me. That piece is definitely Council on Foreign Relations propaganda. Anyone that thinks Russian military power is not impressive is deluded.

Waiting for the Putinites to show up and argue that Russia is strong despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Wait a second. Are you seriously posting this? The Russian military has seemed pretty potent these last couple months. The SU-35 s are really phenomenal pieces of machinery. I read the article and the author is a European Council on Foreign Relations shill. I'd be willing to believe that they were impotent if I hadn't seen such contrary results. They are CRUSHING all opposition in Syria. They have advanced EM jamming capabilities and a TON of conventional armaments. They have never spent anything close to what USSA spends on military, but their costs are much more manageable. They churn out a SU-35 for around $40 million whereas we've spent $1.5 trillion on the F35 fighter and its still not working right. They may spend less but they certainly get a LOT more value for money.

Or CIA and Mossad trained and led insurgents. Where are you getting the idea that the rebels or ISIS aren't extremely well armed? The Russian military is no joke.

Yes but they have massive resources to call on, Russia wasn't the largest military power at the start of ww1 but it was feared due to its potential.

A country spanning 12 timezones with its own resources and a large population can't be taken lightly.

Yea OK vox. Nukes are a huge deterrent that puts russia into the big boy stage. Plus comparing it to the US, a known big spender who spends just to keep itself going is a bad idea.

Nukes that are 30+ years old? The Russian military has been hilariously underfunded since the 70's, and maintaining a nuclear arsenal isn't cheap. I'd be amazed if any of them can still fly, let alone hit us.

Plus, if Putin wants to act like a spoiled brat and nuke everyone because he isn't getting his way, he can go right ahead and do it. Put up or shut up, Vladdy.

So Putin is weak because he doesn't end the world because it's the unprovoked 2nd grade tantrum thing to do? You sound like the kind of guy who got his teeth kicked in as a kid every day then ran home and plotted world domination.

I'm sure they keep their nukes modernized cause otherwise you'd have a sudden infection of americans on the shores.

You are confusing me with that Kike that keeps impersonating me and threatening lawsuits against Voat in order to defame me.

It's strong enough. They'd probably lose WW3 handily if we had it as a military battle, but tanks and soldiers won't see the front in that conflict.
