Chrome rules. Firefox is cool too, IE can go die in a fire.

My biggest beef with chrome is how it renders fonts. Did that ever get fixed?

I don't understand this. Chrome has always given me problems. It's slow, hogs memory, and honestly has a hideous UI. Firefox on the other hand is fast, uses relatively low amounts of RAM (for a web browser, at least), and has a very nice-looking UI that you can change if you don't like it for some reason. I guess I can understand people just not knowing about Firefox, but why would anyone leave it for Chrome? It makes no sense to me.

I think a lot of people use Chrome just because it's a Google thing, and so many people use Google as their search engine, so they see the ads/messages for it
I switched over to Chrome sometime around 2009, because it seemed faster than Firefox on my netbook. I ended up switching back to Firefox shortly after though, because I experienced too many small problems with Chrome. I don't really remember what they were exactly, but I remember something about Ctrl+F not working as well as it did on Firefox, and crashed fairly often.

I'd like to remind everyone to use and support Firefox whether you prefer it or not. Market share gives browser vendors the power to shape the web, and it's extremely important that that power falls in good hands. Mozilla is, as far as I know, the only organization that should be trusted with that power.

I have the same knee jerk reaction, but the bulk of internet users are slow adapters. For instance my parents currently use Chrome after me hammering it into them to use it for years. Similarly I know a lot of general computer users around the office use Chrome. Personally I use Palemoon (a firefox derivative) as well as Firefox. Both portable versions synced through BitTorrentSync, and both loaded with slightly different addon configurations. I've noticed a lot of users migrating away from Chrome also elect to use some Firefox derivative which impacts these numbers.

Honestly, I'm kind of curious to see how much RAM usage these people are supposedly seeing. I have 4 tabs open right now and it's using a grand total of... 300MB? Really? Is that legitimately something to complain about? Am I missing something?

True, until some other program actually requires the RAM that chrome is "wasting"; that's when your entire system gets slow because every program is forced to swap between RAM and HDD/SSD.
Yeah, same deal here. Although the RAM usage was becoming more and more of a problem for my computer, I eventually ended up switching because of all the layout changes they began to implement. I think the one that caused me to install Firefox that day was the google search engine they decided to put in the new tab page, something I thought was rather useless.

It is pretty pointless given that you can just type your query into the address bar. Maybe they're trying to lure older/less tech-savvy folks to Chrome. Beats me.

I hate Chrome's fucking bookmarking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which they just copied from Opera by the way.
