Or just a simulation? Some physicists postulated a five dimensional ring shaped black hole and found it's not compatible with general relativity because it would lead to a naked singularity.
It's not a wormhole and it wasn't discovered as much as imagined.
I get that string theory is elegant, but it hasn't predicted anything testable yet. We should be able to resolve Sagittarius A*'s event horizon in the next few years. I doubt we are going to be seeing any naked singularities as much as I would love to see it.
I'm not learned enough to contribute anything to this thread, in terms of speculation, BUT I would like to see someone else's ideas.. This is some super interesting stuff.
Well,if this isnt a wormhole,it can still be used for travel I think. If you tried to 'thread the needle' and fly through the center ring,you might get shot out like a cannon,like a powerful gravitational slingshot. Or maybe your ship just gets atomized,what the hell do I know.
