No they weren't. Stop making up shit. You want to know how do i know that? Because quality of dialogues and available choices was based on your intelligence level, because charisma and player's nature (good vs evil) was changing the game's outcome, because characters were memorable, and the graphics were ok IN 2008!
If you paid 60$ or whatever for a fallout 4 then you're clueless as to what's good and what isn't.
