Why would a moderator ever delete a sub? They would just go inactive, or want to keep control. The current system is fine.
Deleting a subverse would remove any content ever submitted there, and it would just cause them to migrate to a new subverse anyway

I agree that there should be a simpler way to transfer subverses, but deleting it altogether is a terrible idea. I just don't see a moderator giving up that power, especially after seeing what happened with inactive moderators on reddit. They will just either stop caring or stop logging in, and the subverse will not have a moderator until there is a better way to change moderators. Maybe if there was a way that the community could vote on a subverse request, or some more people could be added to assist Atko
Also I think they had that dummy account for abandoned subverses, maybe they could have one similar for ones where the mod wanted to remove himself

I think that makes two of us! :)
If you want to recreate it feel free. I'll send you the CSS code I had. Like you, I just don't have the time.

Mods deleting a subverse from the data base is very unfair on the users who contribute content. That part of your idea is clearly horrible.

The mod would delete the sub and if you liked it, you (or anyone else) can recreate it. Otherwise a mod is forced to keep a sub he doesn't want.
