Where has this been for the past year? It took me ages to find the exrx standards. Everything else on the internet just gives a vague "whatever you lift, lifting more is better" without caring about balance or comparison to other people on exercise programs.

Are you talking about the big three powerlifts? Because I can't preacher curl my BW...
[–] SilentMaster 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
Wait, I don't get it. I can deadlift 325, but I weigh 140, that's .43. That's bad on your system. I can squat nearly the same so that number sucks as well. What am I missing? I usually just use a website that tells me how I compare on all of the lifts since some are harder than others.

2.32 (inverted)

Thats actually 2.3 something. Weight lifted divided by your weight.

If you are deadlifting over double body weight that's quite good - every system is approximate. I've competed for years and always been told 2x bw squat, 1.5bw bench and 2xbw deadlift is when you can quite fairly call yourself "strong" regardless of what you weigh. Your 325 beats the hell out of some hamplanet pulling 405

Are those numbers for 1RM? That does sound about right for being strong. It'll be a while before I can bench 225 though. By the time I can do that I'll probably have an extra 10 or 20 pounds anyway.
My squat is about 1.5 bw if we don't require proper form, and only require me to go below parallel. I'm working on it.

Exactly. I love when a fatty goes well I can bench 225, yeah, you weigh 225. I can rep my weight at least 15 times prob 20 on bench. I know girls that can rep their own body weight on bench.
[–] Broseph_Brostar 1 point -1 points 0 points (+0|-1) ago
Now, to be fair, any idiot can bench a hundred at least once, so so long as the woman is not, in fact, a sow, almost any woman can do .9
That being said, if your girl can't bench a hundred, get a new girl.
[–] LarryDavidsBallz ago
Wait, you cant rep 225?
[–] ThrowAwaySwoleBro [S] ago
Rep body weight 15 times is damn impressive.
[–] Reps4Jesus ago
I weigh 155 and have done 135x25 185x15 225x6, but all that matters, what's your max bro? lol. Fatties have a massive advantage since their range of motion is shorter. I'm "lanky" so for me to go from lockout to sternum is a monster move. Fatties moobs should be an advantage with how "strong" they are.
[–] hulkingmanbeast ago
Depends on the exercise no? Eg. Curls vs deads vs snatch. Deadlifting your bodyweight 20 times should not be too bad.
[–] hulkingmanbeast 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
You'd think it'd be easy since their combined moob and back fat put them 6" closer to the bar.

Well, well, I could, but lat pull downs hit your muscles better...
[–] DessertFox ago
That makes me officially strong, hooray!
Except for the press, and the power clean which I rarely do anyway.
