i wonder what we'll be allowed to have when the AIs put us in their people zoo.

The funny thing is that in a few decades this will actually be a feasible option. On the one hand you have nightmare skynet scenarios, but on the other hand it would be nice to have a commander in chief who is actually educated in all of the issues it has to deal with on a daily basis. I for one welcome our new computer overlords.

Ha, I was jokingly mentioning replacing leadership with an AI a while back, and how it would probably never happen because of movies like Terminator and The Matrix, but I see not everyone has dropped the idea entirely.
He It has my vote!

Watson is not old enough to run for president, you need to be 35. Looking at some of Watson's policies this seems to be a good thing. Entitlements are not a way to build a strong economy. Every dollar that a government spends must first be taken from someone who earned it. Depriving that person of their natural right to invest that dollar as they see fit.
It is a common trap to focus on government spending and look at all the good it does. But every bit of good the government does comes at a cost. A cost of the unseen. The US government takes $2 Trillion per year out of the productive economy. What would that money have done instead if it was left in private hands?
Government is necessary to govern. We need military, courts, police, and prisons. Anything other than those basic functions is a shell game. Taking money from the left pocket, burning 30% of it, and putting it into the right pocket.

Sure, let's stop pretending companies don't run this country and literally make IBM the president.

One potential problem with this: What if it makes decisions it deems to be the best, but really aren't for a variety of reasons? How do you go about changing an AI's mind when your voice on the issue only makes up an incredibly tiny amount of all the data it has analyzed on the subject?
